Person-Centred and Attachment-Based Therapy with Tyler

Hi, I’m Tyler, a person-centred therapist with an attachment-based approach, offering an affirming and non-judgemental space for people who may feel different, misunderstood or that they simply don’t fit in.

Have you ever found yourself thinking, “I just don’t fit in”?

Perhaps aspects of your identity, relationships, health or way of experiencing the world sit outside what society often considers “conventional”. You may be exploring **gender identity or gender expression, sexuality, neurodiversity, ADHD, autism, consensual non-monogamy, chronic illness, trauma or single parenthood**. Or perhaps you have spent much of your life feeling that you are somehow different, without always knowing why.

Whatever brings you to therapy, you do not need to fit into a particular box to be understood here.

A space where you can bring all of yourself

I offer a therapeutic space where you can slow down, reflect on your experiences and explore what may be getting in the way of feeling more settled, connected and able to thrive.

I am not here to tell you who you should be or how your life should look. You remain the expert on yourself.

My role is to walk alongside you with curiosity, compassion and respect, helping you explore the experiences, relationships and patterns that may have shaped how you see yourself and relate to others.

Together, we can begin to notice what may have knocked you off course and consider whether the ways you learned to cope, protect yourself or stay connected in the past are still serving you today.

Neurodiversity, identity and relationship diversity

I have extensive therapeutic and lived experience across a range of areas, including:

* ADHD and autism
* Neurodiversity
* Gender identity and gender non-conformity
* Sexuality
* Consensual non-monogamy and relationship diversity
* Chronic illness
* Trauma
* Mental health diagnoses
* Single parenting
* Feeling different, excluded, misunderstood or out of place

Rather than approaching these experiences as problems to be “fixed”, I am interested in what they mean for you as an individual.

Your experience is at the centre of our work.

Attachment-based therapy

My attachment-based approach helps us explore how earlier relationships and experiences may have shaped the way you relate to yourself and other people today.

We might notice patterns around closeness, rejection, trust, boundaries, people-pleasing, conflict, independence or fears of abandonment. We can explore where these patterns may have come from, how they once helped you cope, and whether they continue to support the life and relationships you want now.

This work is not about blaming the past. It is about developing greater understanding, choice and compassion for the ways you have learned to survive and relate.

Person-centred therapy

My person-centred approach means our work is collaborative, holistic and affirming.

I will not make assumptions about who you are, what your relationships should look like or how you should live your life.

Instead, we create a space where you can explore your experiences openly and honestly, including thoughts, feelings or parts of yourself that you may previously have felt unable to share — sometimes even with yourself.

Therapy can offer an opportunity to understand yourself more deeply, recognise patterns that may be holding you back and develop a stronger sense of who you are and what you need.

You do not need to become someone different in order to belong.

You can simply come as you are.
