Hello, I’m Emma, a BACP-registered Attachment-Based Integrative Therapist offering counselling for adults, young people aged 11+ and older adults.

I have a particular interest in working with adult adoptees, including people with experiences of adoption, kinship care and Special Guardianship, and with people who identify as neurodivergent. I offer attachment-informed, neurodiversity-affirming therapy that recognises how our early relationships and experiences can continue to shape the way we understand ourselves, relate to others and respond to the world around us.

You may be looking for counselling because you are experiencing anxiety, low mood, overwhelm, relationship difficulties, loss or significant life changes. You might be exploring questions around identity, belonging, adoption or neurodivergence, or beginning to recognise the impact that earlier experiences and relationships are having on your life now.

Sometimes it can be difficult to put what you are feeling into words or even know where to begin. My approach is relational, attachment-based and integrative. I offer a calm, accepting and non-judgemental space where you do not need to mask, find the “right” words or arrive already knowing what you want to talk about.

For neurodivergent clients, sessions can be adapted to support individual communication, processing and sensory needs. We work at a pace that feels manageable for you rather than expecting you to fit a particular way of doing therapy.

Together, we can explore what is happening for you now while making sense of the experiences and relationships that may have shaped you. This can include exploring attachment patterns, relationships, identity, belonging and earlier life experiences, while recognising your strengths alongside the difficulties you may be facing.

My aim is to help you develop a more compassionate understanding of yourself, recognise patterns that may once have helped you cope but no longer serve you, and find meaningful and realistic ways forward.
