Online
Hello, I’m Becky, a warm and relational trauma-informed, attachment-based therapist offering online counselling to adults, children and young people across the UK.
I specialise in attachment and trauma, supporting people to understand how their experiences and relationships may have shaped the way they feel, cope and connect with others today.
You may be struggling with difficult emotions, relationship patterns, low self-worth or a sense that you are always on alert. Perhaps you understand why you respond in certain ways but still find it difficult to change those responses. Therapy can offer a safe space to slow things down and begin to make sense of what is happening beneath the surface.
My approach is grounded in Person-Centred Therapy and attachment-based practice. This means that safety, trust and the therapeutic relationship are at the heart of our work together.
I aim to offer a calm, regulated and non-judgemental space where you can reflect on your experiences, explore difficult emotions and begin to understand your inner world with greater compassion.
### Attachment-Based Therapy and Trauma Counselling
Attachment-based therapy helps us explore how our earliest relationships and experiences may continue to influence the way we experience trust, closeness, conflict and emotional safety.
Sometimes the ways we learned to protect ourselves were important and necessary at the time. As adults, however, those same protective responses can leave us feeling anxious, disconnected, overwhelmed or stuck in relationship patterns we don’t fully understand.
Our work is not about asking, “What’s wrong with you?”
Instead, we become curious about, “What happened to you, and what did you learn you needed to do to feel safe?”
I have also completed a Foundation Diploma in Trauma, which complements my work with relational trauma and attachment. This allows us to consider not only your experiences and relationships, but also how your body and nervous system may have learned to respond to stress, threat and emotional overwhelm.
Bringing attachment-based therapy and trauma-informed counselling together can help you develop a deeper understanding of both your relational patterns and your emotional responses.
The aim is not simply to give you coping strategies. It is to help you build a greater sense of safety within yourself, process painful experiences and begin to develop different ways of relating to yourself and to others.
I am a Registered Member of the BACP and practise in line with the BACP Ethical Framework. My work is supported by regular clinical supervision and ongoing professional development.
Above all, I believe therapy should be a space where you feel accepted, understood and able to explore your experiences at your own pace.
